How to Sell USDC for Colombian Pesos by Bre-B or Bank Transfer
Colombian pesos can now be paid out by Bre-B or bank transfer, usually within minutes. Here is what to add before your first payout, and which coins can be sold.
Rampy can now pay out in Colombian pesos: into your own Colombian account if you live there and are paid in dollars or euros, or into the account of a contractor or supplier you are paying from anywhere outside the EU. There are two ways in, and you choose by what you add — a Bre-B key, or a bank account.
Who can do this
- Any verified customer outside the EU and EEA, individual or company — to your own Colombian account, or to a contractor or supplier there.
- Payouts only. You can sell stablecoins into pesos; you cannot buy stablecoins with pesos, or open a peso deposit account. To be paid from abroad, open USD or EUR bank details in your own name, and the money arrives in your wallet as stablecoins.
- The account paid must be Colombian.
Bre-B or a bank account
Bre-B is Colombia's instant payment scheme, run by the central bank: a key — a phone number, an email, an ID number or an alphanumeric key — stands for an account, the way a Pix key does in Brazil. A bank transfer pays an account directly, by its bank, its number, and the holder's ID document and mobile. Both usually arrive in about three minutes, up to thirty for large amounts. A Bre-B payout over 11,552,000 pesos is sent as a bank transfer by our partner on its own.
Before your first payout
- Verify your identity, if you have not already. It is done once and covers every currency.
- Under Verification, press Turn on next to Colombia. Our partner approves it from the verification you have already done.
- Under Bank accounts, choose Colombia and add a Bre-B key, or a bank account: the bank from the list, the account type (savings, checking, or an electronic deposit such as Nequi or Daviplata), the account number, and the holder's document (cédula, NIT, passport and so on) and Colombian mobile.
- For somebody else's account, choose Someone else's and give their name and address, which our partner sends with each payment.
Which coins can be sold for pesos
USDC on any of the networks it runs on here, and PYUSD on Ethereum or Solana. USDT and EURC cannot be paid out in Colombian pesos: swap them to USDC first, which takes a minute.
Selling
- Choose the coin and network you hold, the amount, and the account to pay.
- Check the preview. The fee is 1.99% + 1.99 below 500, then 0.99% + 1.99 from 500 per order, and the preview shows it and roughly what will arrive in pesos before you confirm.
- Send the coins to the address shown, on the network named. It is a one-off address for that order.
- The pesos reach the account, usually within minutes of our partner receiving the coins.
Minimums
Orders start at 100 of the coin you send, which is far above anything the Colombian rails themselves require.
Getting paid in pesos regularly
If stablecoins arrive for you often, an auto-convert address saves placing an order each time. It is a permanent crypto address linked to your Colombian account: anything sent to it is converted and paid out in pesos on its own, for 1.99% of each payout with no flat fee.
Turn Colombia on from Verification, add a Bre-B key or a bank account, and sell in minutes.
USDC to COPFrequently asked
Can I buy USDC with Colombian pesos?
No. Colombian pesos are a payout currency only on Rampy, so you can sell stablecoins into pesos but not buy them with pesos.
How long does a payout take?
Usually about three minutes, by Bre-B or bank transfer, and up to thirty for large amounts.
Can I pay a supplier's Colombian account?
Yes. Add it as somebody else's account and give their name and address, which our partner sends with each payment. Each payment has a limit, lower while the account is new.
Can I sell USDT for pesos?
Not directly. Swap it to USDC first, then sell.
