How to Sell USDC for Mexican Pesos by SPEI
SPEI pays pesos into any Mexican bank account in seconds. Here is what you need before your first payout, and the one weekly window when it pauses.

SPEI is Mexico's interbank payment system, run by the central bank. It moves pesos between Mexican accounts in seconds, at any hour, which makes it one of the better rails in the world to cash stablecoins out onto. What it needs from you is an 18-digit CLABE and a verified account that has Mexico switched on.
Who can do this
- Customers from Mexico. The option appears only for customers verified there.
- Payouts only. You can sell stablecoins into pesos; you cannot buy stablecoins with pesos, or open a peso deposit account.
- The account paid must be in Mexico. SPEI does not reach accounts anywhere else.
Before your first payout
- Verify your identity, if you have not already. It is done once and covers every currency.
- Under Verification, press Turn on next to Mexico. It is approved from the verification you have already done, sometimes after you accept updated terms from our partner.
- Under Bank accounts, add the CLABE. It can be yours, or the account of somebody you are paying — for somebody else's, you give the holder's name and address.
What a CLABE is
A CLABE (Clave Bancaria Estandarizada) is the 18-digit number every Mexican bank account has for interbank transfers. It is not the card number and not the shorter account number printed on a statement. The first three digits identify the bank and the last is a check digit, so a mistyped CLABE is usually caught before anything is sent.
Selling
- Choose the coin and network you hold, the amount, and the CLABE to pay.
- Check the preview. The fee is 1.99% + 1.99 below 500, then 0.99% + 1.99 from 500 per order, and the preview shows it and roughly what will arrive before you confirm.
- Send the coins to the address shown, on the network named. It is a one-off address for that order.
- Pesos reach the account over SPEI, usually within seconds of our partner receiving the coins.
Minimums
Orders start at 100 of the coin you send. SPEI itself will not carry less than 50 pesos, which an order of that size is always well above.
Getting paid in pesos regularly
If stablecoins arrive for you often — from clients, or from an exchange — an auto-convert address saves placing an order each time. It is a permanent crypto address linked to your CLABE: anything sent to it is converted and paid out in pesos on its own, for 1.99% of each payout with no flat fee.
Turn Mexico on from Verification, then sell to a CLABE in minutes.
USDC to MXNFrequently asked
Can I buy USDC with pesos?
Not yet. Our payment partner offers pesos as a payout currency only, so you can sell stablecoins into pesos but not buy them with pesos.
How long does a SPEI payout take?
Usually seconds, at any hour. The exception is a weekly maintenance window on Thursdays from 06:00 UTC, for up to two hours, when payouts wait until it ends.
Can I pay somebody else's Mexican account?
Yes. Add their CLABE as somebody else's account and give their name and address, which our partner sends with each payment. Each payment has a limit, lower while the account is new.
I live in the EU. Can I sell for pesos?
No. Our partner does not serve residents of the European Union for pesos or reais.
